Alice in a red cloak facing the Three Towers

Born and raised in the swamps of central Florida, I’m not sure what first sparked my love of storytelling.

Maybe it was the long dirt driveways festooned in Spanish moss, or the sunsets reflected in the Withlacoochee River as I drifted in a canoe. Or perhaps it was the oversized, lizard-like creatures from another age that still prowl those wetlands, feeding my imagination and inspiring me to write.

Whatever the reason, I’m grateful for it. I can’t imagine my life without the outlet of pen and paper. Writing is an inexpensive kind of magic—a ticket to anywhere I want to go, limited only by imagination.
